Pakistan builds meat export base in 14 countries and seeks poultry access to Saudi Arabia and the UAE

Pakistan now has established meat export markets in 14 countries and is pressing for poultry market access in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Government documents reported on 7 October 2026 show Pakistan's existing meat export destinations include Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Jordan and China. The Ministry of Commerce is pursuing further access through Trade and Investment Officers, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Animal Quarantine Department.

  • Saudi Arabia remains a major market: Pakistani meat and poultry exports there reached US$191.5 million in FY2025-26.
  • Uzbekistan grew from about US$15.1 million / 4,439 tonnes in FY2025 to US$18 million / 6,094 tonnes in FY2026.
  • Poultry access has been requested in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and remains under process for Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and Vietnam.
  • Applications for table and hatching eggs in Saudi Arabia are under consideration, while China dossiers cover boiled chicken feet, ready-to-eat chicken products and pasteurised egg products.

The drive is supported by TDAP's 24-month Agri-Exports Marketing Plan covering September 2026 to August 2028, which includes Gulfood, the Saudi Food Show, SIAL Paris, Food Africa and other exhibitions, together with trade missions and incoming buyer delegations.

Competition for shelf space in the Gulf keeps intensifying. NAU Food Group supplies frozen chicken and meat from selected Chinese processing plants — halal certified, HACCP compliant, with origin, health and veterinary certificates, and customs clearance into Dubai arranged.
