The MoU was signed at MIHAS 2026, the Malaysia International Halal Showcase, and announced in late September 2026. It sets out a framework rather than a fixed volume: the two companies will explore commercial opportunities in halal protein products, with Malaysia treated as a regional production and export base for the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Tanmiah framed the agreement in terms of market access rather than capacity: “Malaysia is one of the most respected halal markets in the world and a natural gateway to the wider Asia-Pacific region, making it a strategic priority for Tanmiah's next phase of growth.” Malaysia's halal certification framework is among the most widely recognised in importing markets, and Gulf producers moving downstream into further-processed halal chicken product are competing for the same foodservice and retail shelves that frozen raw cuts have traditionally supplied.
For buyers, the signal is that halal poultry trade lanes keep widening between the Gulf, Southeast Asia and Africa — and that certification is increasingly specified by importing authorities and by retail customers. Consignments that arrive with a clearly identified halal authority, matched documentation and an unbroken −18 °C cold chain travel with fewer queries at the port. Nau International Food Group supplies halal frozen poultry and frozen meat from GACC-registered plants, holds halal, HACCP and origin documentation, and arranges customs clearance into Dubai and onward delivery.
