The project, valued at 20.47 billion CFA francs, will be built at Nkouo in the Pool department through Sedima Congo SA. It bundles crop farming, feed production, a hatchery, poultry rearing and chicken processing into a single chain.
Once fully operational, the complex is expected to produce 10,800 tonnes of maize, 6,600 tonnes of soybeans and 2,200 tonnes of broiler chicken a year, with facilities including crop farms, a hatchery, poultry houses and a slaughterhouse. It will be financed through equity and loans from regional institutions including BGFIBank and the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC).
The move fits a wider trend across Africa: established producers are building local, integrated supply chains rather than relying on imports. Even so, Central African demand for frozen chicken continues to outstrip what domestic farms can supply today, and import volumes are expected to stay significant through the transition.
NAU Food Group supplies halal frozen poultry and meat from approved plants, with halal, HACCP, veterinary health and certificate-of-origin documentation, and can arrange customs clearance on arrival in Dubai for re-distribution to GCC and African markets.
