Figures from Kazakhstan's Bureau of National Statistics, reported by Poultry World on 14 October 2026, put Chinese poultry at 13,800 tonnes in the first half of 2026, a 570 percent increase, making China the country's second-largest supplier behind Russia and ahead of the United States and Brazil. Chinese product averaged US$961 per tonne, against US$1,489 for Russian, US$1,357 for US and US$1,308 for Brazilian poultry, while the average import price across all suppliers was about US$1,350 per tonne.
The same shift shows up in Russia. In August 2026 China exported US$21.9 million of poultry to Russia and imported US$21.5 million of Russian poultry, according to China's General Administration of Customs — the first month in years in which the flow reversed. Over January to August Russia still sold more to China (US$188.2 million) than it bought (US$154.7 million), but its poultry export revenue from China fell from US$322 million in the same period of 2025.
